Dr. Michael Balthaser is a local Berks County native, having graduated from Tulpehocken Area High School. He received his Bachelors and Masters Degrees from DeSales University. While at DeSales, Dr. Balthaser was a standout student and athlete, lettering in two sports, soccer and tennis, achieving conference all-academic honors in both, graduating Summa Cum Laude and being awarded the DeSales University President’s Medal upon graduation. Dr. Balthaser went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Temple University School of Dentistry where he graduated in the top 2% of his class with Summa Cum Laude honors. He has achieved numerous awards of distinction throughout his dental career including the Delaware Valley Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Award for Clinical Excellence, the American Academy of Oral Pathology Student of the Year Award, the Philadelphia County Dental Society Senior Student Award, and induction into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) National Honorary Dental Fraternity. Dr. Balthaser served as President of the Berks County Dental Society from 2010-2011.
In 2014, Dr. Balthaser was recognized by Incisal Edge Magazine as one of the “Top 40 Dentists Under 40” years-of-age in the US. He has been listed in Berks County Living Magazine as one of the “Top Dentists in Berks County” every year since 2010. Dr. Balthaser has achieved Fellowship status from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists in recognition of his advanced education in the surgical placement and restoration of dental implants. Dr. Balthaser has received Fellowship status in the Academy of General Dentistry in 2016 for his advanced education and examinations he has completed during his years of private practice. He has completed training in IV conscious sedation that allows him to treat highly anxious patients in the comfort of his dental office. Dr. Balthaser is one of the few general dentists in the US have the ability to administer and monitor anesthesia during dental office visits.
Dr. Balthaser maintains continuous membership in the American Dental Association, Pennsylvania Dental Association, Berks County Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry. He is dedicated to serving the needs of the dental community by attending continuing education seminars regularly to stay up-to-date on all technological advances in dentistry and beyond. He has also been responsible for bringing renowned speakers to the Berks County area for all dental society members to benefit.
Dr. Balthaser resides in Mohnton, PA, with his wife Melissa, and their four children, Owen, Adam, Blake, and Andrew. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, personal fitness, watching sports, and playing golf.
Stephanie C. Berg, D.M.D.
Dr. Berg received her bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University in 2008, where she was named to the Dean’s list for eight consecutive semesters. While at Rutgers, Dr. Berg was a member of the Women’s Varsity Crew team and was awarded membership to the National College Athletes Honor Society, The Big East Conference Academic All-Star team, and named a scholar athlete by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association.
Dr. Berg received her Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree from the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Dental Medicine in 2012, where she was a member of the American Student Dental Association. Upon graduation, she received the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain outstanding student award. After graduating dental school, she completed a general practice dental residency at Lancaster General Hospital, during which time she was closely mentored by top dentists and dental specialists in the Lancaster County Area. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry and the Lancaster County Dental Society. Dr. Berg enjoys attending continuing education seminars to better serve her patients and is an active member of the Pennsylvania Academy of General Dentistry PEAK 1 study club.
Originally from southern New Jersey, Dr. Berg resides in Lititz, PA with her two cats and two dogs. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, tackling small home repair projects, and training her standard poodle, Odin, in agility coursework. She also enjoys watercolor painting and glass blowing.
Onyinye C. Myers, D.D.S.
Originally from Baltimore Maryland, Dr. Myers has enjoyed practicing dentistry in the Philadelphia area for several years. A proud Penn State alum and graduate of University of Maryland Dental School, she resides locally with her husband and two children. Her patients can expect to have their dental needs addressed with compassion, excellence and experience; From comprehensive oral exams, hygiene, and fillings, Dr. Myers is also equipped to provide dental services such as Crowns and Bridges , Veneers, Root Canals, Periodontics, Emergency Dentistry, Dental Implant restorations, Dentures and Extractions. She is additionally licensed to provide dental treatment under nitrous sedation or laughing gas and is invisalign certified.
Personal Statement: "I remain awed at the opportunity to be a dentist. It is a responsibility that I do not take lightly. I am committed to the prevention of tooth decay; the protection of existing restorations and the meeting of dental challenges with compassion. This is what drives me in every patient encounter."
Ronald I. Reiter, D.M.D., FADSA, CCEMTP
Dr. Reiter is a 1978 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. In 1992 he completed a residency in Dental Anesthesiology at the Medical College of Pennsylvania. Dr. Reiter is a Fellow of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology and a Diplomate of the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology. He advocates for and participates in aggressive continuing education and is part time faculty at the Reading Hospital School of Health Sciences in EMS (emergency medical services) education.
Personal statement: "I feel fortunate that I can participate in the dental care of our patients. Being a Dental Anesthesiologist, I offer anesthesia options to patients that would either struggle with having dental treatment completed or would completely avoid having treatment. There are many patients that are candidates for sedation and general anesthesia and there is nothing to be embarrassed about. Now we can “get it done” safely and comfortably in an office that is designed and equipped for anesthesia and with support staff and Doctors that are trained and experienced in this field. These services are available to adults, children, and those with special needs."
